Due to the partial revision of the Child Welfare Act, “Awaji Kodomoen:
Daycare Center for Children with Intellectual Disabilities” reorganized
and changed the name to Awaji Kodomoen: Child Development Support Center
from April, 1st in 2012. Child Development Support Center is a specialized
facility of supporting children with intellectual disabilities in the community.
This center takes the central role in support for not only children who
are certified persons with intellectual disabilities or diagnosed with
autism, but also children who need support in their development and their
family. ・Delay in language development including pronunciation ・Difficulty hearing ・Difficulty expressing feelings and wants in words ・Difficulty speaking smoothly ・Difficulty communicating with others ・Being restless (hyperactivity) ・Difficulty making eye contact ・Not turning around even if his/her family calls him/her ・Difficulty playing with other children ・Delay or problems in motor development ・Difficulty walking ・Delay in intellectual development Family members, who are worried about their child’s development, can receive consistent support in each stage of his/her life in the community. It is very important for the child’s development to discover and address these problems early. We hope that parents consult with us anytime instead of being worried alone when they find out some problems in their child’s development in eighteen-month checkups and three-year checkups. The most important thing is that children develop abilities to express their feelings and wants, have confidence in themselves and grow up energetically in the community. At our child development support center, we offer two support services as stated below other than ordinary (existing) support.
